CCYC Tarbert Race Saturday 11 July 2026
Published 21:09 on 2 Jul 2026
A Clyde classic since 1894, the CCYC Tarbert Race sends the fleet on a fast, scenic 20mile run from Rothesay to Tarbert. Over the decades, legends such as Bloodhound, Mariella, and Sceptre have lifted the trophy, adding real heritage to this muchloved event.
The race is open to all CCYC classes, with handicaps and flags keeping competition tight. For those who prefer shorthanded sailing, Class V welcomes twoperson crews, who may motor through the Burnt Islands narrows without penalty and use autohelms throughout.
This race forms part of the Mudhook double-handed race series.
Entry fee: £20.
Alongside the racing fleet, cruising yachts are warmly invited to join the passage north and enjoy a relaxed sail to Tarbert as part of the wider Corinthian gathering.
